Melitzanosalata is a traditional Greek dip with eggplant as its' base ingredient (melitzana in Greek, hence the name). The eggplants are being baked in the oven with onions and then their flesh is put in the blender, along with olive oil, spices and lemon juice. This gives to the Melitzanosalata an amazing spread-like texture that makes it special. It is an extremely healthy dip, as it contains only pure vegetables and olive oil. It is a typical exceptional meze as an appetizer, but you can also spread it on top of your bread because of its' soft texture!

Achetée en fin d'hiver en 'hors saison' : goût léger et frais, un peu trop d'acidité vinaigrée (due probablement à la technique de conservation des melitzanes). Très correct malgré tout. Il me semble que le même produit a plus de goût, moins d'acidité en fin d'été (melitzanes fraîches ?!)

Assolutamente delizioso. Adoro le melanzane questa insalata greca mi ha fatto scoprire un nuovo mondo. Vorrei anche complimentarmi con Greek Flavours per come impacchettano la spedizione di prodotti freschi: un ghiaccino riusabile e una busta che contribuisce a mantenere fresco il prodotto, anche questa riusabile, perfetto.

If you (like me) love eggplants, you will adore this. If you hate them, don't bother buying. It's like baba ghanoush but without the sesame paste. It's pure eggplant-y bliss!
