Skotiri is one of the most iconic cheeses of Ios Island, a flavour that instantly brings you back to a Greek taverna by the sea. This soft and creamy cheese is made following a traditional Cycladic recipe that blends myzithra and kefalotyri, enriched with fresh milk and local herbs.

 

What makes Skotiri truly distinctive is throubi, the wild thyme that grows naturally on Ios. It gives the cheese its aromatic, slightly spicy character, balanced by a buttery, spreadable texture.

 

Where it comes from

Produced on the island of Ios by To Niotiko Tyrokomeio, a small artisanal dairy using local goat, sheep and cow’s milk from free-grazing animals. The production follows traditional methods, with strict quality control at every stage. Each cheese captures the aromas of the Cycladic land, offering a true taste of place.
